Walnut Creek is a Villa Development on a 3.25 acre site on the outskirts of Bangalore. The site is vegetated with coconut palms, other trees and wild bushes, many of which will be incorporated into the new landscape. Because of the low density of the development, there will be no requirement for underground parking and associated podium landscape.
The open space of the gated community follows the shared surface approach that does away with the distinction of driveable, walkable and playable surfaces. Instead, paved and soft landscape areas are arranged to reflect the landscape concept design by integrating all requirements of usability.
The landscape concept is inspired by the development’s name ‘Walnut Creek’. It interprets the ruffled shape of the walnut flesh and then lays out landscape lines that flow seamlessly through the entire stretch of the site creating a framework for landscape shaping and programming.
This concept is carried through design development to detail design, incorporating leisure activities and access requirements as well as associated landscape elements into the landscape design following a consistent design language.
