The site of Aga Khan School, Mzizima, Dar Es Salam is mostly flat land that consists of numerous fully grown existing trees and natural vegetation (lawn and shrubs) that provides an exciting canvas for the landscape design.

The architectural masterplan consists of three main educational blocks along with various recreational facilities accessible by the students of the school as well as the general public. The school is built to encourage interactive learning. The open corridor and classroom system makes the learning experience memorable and interesting for the students and the teachers.

Zoras refers the local art form Tinga Tinga and its variety, the whirlpool paintings in its Mzizima Landscape Proposal. 10 circles are distributed on the landscape masterplan according to the architectural zoning. They represent the learners profile principles whilst creating the unifying design language. The circles are further detailed to represent whirpools that mimic the tinga tinga painting technique. They can be interpreted as the process of learning that is detailed and never ending.

The 10 circles create outdoor spaces that are in direct relationship with the schools indoor uses and purposes.
